NORTH Queensland Liberal MP Warren Entsch, co-founder of the Parliamentary Friends of LGBTI Australians, mentions intersex people in this StarOnline article.
Thank you, Mister Entsch.
In a special penalty exacted upon intersex Australians for being born biologically different, we were denied the right to marry under the Howard government’s amendment to the Marriage Act 1961 in 2004.
The marriages and families of intersex people who tied the knot before 2004 remain under threat of dissolution and penalization, as do those of intersex people who have been able to marry since.
