We invite expressions of interest in board positions

Intersex Human Rights Australia is keen to receive expressions of interest in becoming a member of our board. Board members play a vital role in ensuring the accountability of our organisation, and for ensuring our smooth functioning.

Board members become directors of our charitable company. They are expected to play a role in overseeing the functioning of the organisation, participating in 6-10 board meetings per year. Ideally, at least one face-to-face board meeting is held each year for strategic planning purposes. Discussions also take place via an email list and social media.

We welcome applications from members of our community and allies, including members of underrepresented communities and regions. Applications are particularly sought from people with legal, clinical or not-for-profit management expertise. Applicants must be either Australian or resident in Australia, and must demonstrate a commitment to the human rights goals of our organisation. Successful applicants must be willing to participate in a Police Check and Working with Children Check.

Applications need to be received no later than 15 December 2020. Applications will be reviewed by the Executive Directors and presented to a Board Meeting for consideration in early 2021.

Please send us your CV and a letter telling us about your qualifications, training, experience and personal attributes that you can bring to the board.
