Legislation to protect intersex human rights in the ACT passed!

Today, and with cross-party support, the ACT Assembly has passed legislation introduced by Andrew Barr in March to protect the human rights of people with innate variations of sex characteristics in medical settings. We warmly welcome publication by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) of analysis of responses to ‘non-binary sex’ in the 2021 census. The report shows a need for reform ahead of the next census.

Challenging bad practice in pathology
