Movie: XXXY (2000)
XXXY is a short, 13 minute movie by Porter Gale and Laleh Soomekh, then students at Stanford University Department of Art and Art History, and released in 2000. The full movie can be watched here, via Vimeo.
It features two people born intersex, Kristi Bruce, and Howard Devore, along with family members and a clinician.
The film has received multiple awards and is an important contribution to debates around the treatment of intersex people, revealing issues which remain as relevant today as they were in 2000.
The movie has been released as part of the Interface Project.
