Human rights for intersex people
Recently there has been a flurry of activity on human rights in Australia:
- The Human Rights Commissioner has finalized his report into same sex relationships and is in the process of finalizing his Sex & Gender Diversity report.
- The federal government has appointed four eminent persons to conduct community consultations on Human Rights issues and report back.
- The Queensland government is currently conducting a Human Rights enquiry and NSW is looking into a Bill of Rights.
- There are few people aware of the complete lack of Human Rights and legal protection against discrimination and vilification for intersex people anywhere in the world.
There has never been a better time to take a stand and speak out for Intersex. If you have the opportunity to participate in Human Rights consultations, make a noise for intersex.
