Call for submissions: YOUth & I youth publication
Supported by the ACT Government, Canberra
YOUth & I seeks to encourage young intersex people to share their own stories, short essays, reflections, poems, cartoons, drawings – really, anything that can be printed! We want to hear from intersex young people everywhere about their experiences, hopes, fears and dreams. The publication will be published online and in print.
As this project is supported by the ACT government Capital of Equality grants program, preference will be given to submissions from the Canberra region and Australia although submissions from everywhere are welcomed.
Why? Intersex voices are so rarely heard which is such a shame! Content that’s out there about intersex is often highly medicalised or focused on the need for advocacy or support (so necessary and important) but intersex people are also super interesting and creative – it’s time to showcase that!
