Find community, keep social, online
Finding community is one of the best things that any person with an intersex variation can do. Thankfully, our communities exist online as much as they do face-to-face. Social distancing no longer means foregoing all forms of social engagement – and online contact is even more important for many of us.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, IHRA and Intersex Peer Support Australia (IPSA) are holding regular weekly catch-ups for people with intersex variations in our region.
Meeting dates and times are now updated, and their frequency increased: we meet via the Zoom teleconferencing app, each Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime. Now that daylight saving has ended, meetings are at 1pm in ACT, NSW, Queensland, Tasmania and Victoria.
UPDATE: from 1 July, now that the lockdowns are ending in most places, we’re shifting back to a once a week session on Thursdays.
For access details, either join IPSA or join the IHRA friends and members Facebook group.
