51+ States call to protect the human rights of intersex people at the United Nations
A growing number of States has called on the UN Human Rights Council to urgently protect intersex persons in their autonomy and right to health. These 51* States from all regions of the world also highlighted the “need for concrete measures to combat harmful practices, violence and discrimination”

Submission on the ACT government options paper on protecting the rights of intersex people in medical settings
IHRA has made a formal submission responding to an ACT government options paper that proposes a legal framework to protect infants, children, adolescents and adults from harmful practices in medical settings, recognition of the rights to bodily integrity and to access treatment.
Towards a model bill to eliminate harmful practices affecting sex characteristics in medical settings
In February this year, Intersex Human Rights Australia commenced work to develop a model bill to provide protections from forced or coercive medical interventions to modify sex characteristics.
The Victorian government commits to protect the human rights of intersex people in medical settings
Intersex Human Rights Australia (IHRA) and Equality Australia welcome the Victorian Government’s vision for Victorians with intersex variations, (i) Am Equal. These reforms aim to respect the rights of intersex people to make decisions about our own bodies.
Review of government, community and related resources in Victoria
